We often think we need time, energy, or perfect conditions to truly relax.
But in reality, a few simple gestures are sometimes enough to turn an ordinary moment into a true moment of softness and calm.
We cannot spend the whole year waiting for just two weeks of holiday to finally rest.
If you want to change and improve your daily life, you have to create these moments for yourself. No one will do it for you… but it is much simpler than you imagine, even when you are a tired mum who lacks time.

Here are 5 simple steps to create your cocooning ritual, to enjoy all year round — even as a busy mum:
1. Create a comforting atmosphere
Start by choosing a place where you feel good: your sofa, your bed, a quiet corner of the house… or even the bathroom (my favourite place, because it is often the easiest way to get a moment just for myself).
Lower the light, light a scented candle with intention, and choose a soft playlist.
The goal: invite calm.
Dim light and delicate scents create a sensory bubble that soothes almost instantly.
Your body then receives a simple message: you can slow down.
2. Prepare your favourite comforting drink
A herbal tea, a tea, a hot chocolate… or even a glass of wine or a glass of champagne.
This is your moment to treat yourself, to spoil yourself a little. You deserve it after a full day of taking care of others.
Remember: it is not just a drink, it is a ritual.
Holding a warm cup in your hands already helps calm the nervous system and anchor you in the present moment.
Choose a drink that warms your heart, pour it into a cup you love, and take the time to savour it.
It may seem simple, but it is deeply comforting.
3. Give yourself an activity that feels good
Dive into a good book. Choose a story that feels good to you: a novel that carries you away, a mystery book that surprises you, or a gentle story that inspires you. Sometimes, just a few pages are enough to escape and reconnect with yourself.
You can also write in a notebook, listen to music, breathe deeply, or give yourself a small facial care…
Choose an activity that requires no effort, only presence.
This moment is for you, with no goal and no performance.
Just you, in your bubble.
4. Cut off the noise of the world
Put your phone down, even for a few minutes.
No notifications.
No to-do list.
No messages to answer.
Just you and this moment.
Give yourself permission to be unavailable to the rest of the world during this little pause.
